I’ve been thinking so much recently about God’s will. About how He tells us to pray that it will be done: “Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done. On earth as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10)
The very fact that we are told to ask for it suggests that there are other wills that might be done instead. Mine. Yours. The enemy’s. The world’s. I haven’t worked it all out in my mind yet, and maybe that’s because God is good but He’s also real big. And I don’t know how it all fits together, but I know that it matters. I know that it matters that we pray. I know that it matters that we seek Him, that we draw ourselves up near to Him (James 4:7), that we come boldly into His presence and ask for what we need (Hebrews 4:14-16).
I know that He is trustworthy. Because He is good. Not hypothetically, mysteriously good–but really good. The Giver of good gifts. The Comforter of broken hearts. The Healer of wounded souls.

Sometimes we are casualties of a war God did not ordain. Can He redeem it? Can He use it to bring about His glory and our good? Yes, but the very fact that redemption is necessary suggests to me that He did not intend the breech in the first place.”
You figured all this out a long time ago — nice confirmation about our God who gets blamed for so many things He really tries to help us avoid!!
