I made a short-ish video the to share some of my thoughts with you. I’ve been thinking a lot about Bible study recently—not so much the content or the methods—but just generally about why we open the Scriptures. What are we hoping we’ll find? What are we afraid we won’t find?
What has been your experience with Bible study? How have you approached the Scriptures (reading them on your own, joining a group, using resources, etc)? What have you hoped you would find? What fears or hesitations keep you from Bible study? Seriously. I’d love to hear!
(PS: I much prefer writing and I plan to get back at it here in a bit. But for now, this video is what felt like it would work so I’m overcoming my insecurities and sharing it with you.)
If you’re looking for a way or a place to open the Word of God this fall, I’d love to invite you to join us for our study of Ruth. We’ll be meeting in Houston on Tuesdays (Oct 2-Nov 13) from 10-11:30am or 7-8:30pm. There’s also an online option available if you’re looking to study alone or to gather with your own small group. Click here for more information and the link to register.
Wherever and however you open the Word of God, I pray that you will. And when you do, I trust that the God of the Bible will meet you there. He loves to show Himself faithful!
